The primary responsibility of the FLSE is to teach weekly, holistic sexuality educational groups based on the Carrera FLSE curriculum, emphasizing age and stage/developmentally appropriate information on key topics including abstinence, sexual literacy, puberty, decision-making, body image, and communication with parents and trusted adults. This is a school year position with some summer hours necessary. It is 3 hours per day from Monday thru Friday. The hours are either 2:30 to 5:30 or 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. depending on program needs. Specialist will be working with youth from grade 6 to grade 12. There is also a Summer Program component that lasts five weeks for twenty five hours per week. The FLSE specialist should have a health-related Bachelorâs degree. Applicant should have at least one year experience as a Family life educator with adolescents.
